One pound (2 x 8OZ Tubes) Nicaraguan Selva Negra Organic
A unique coffee with an interesting history! Selva Negra means Black Forest and the estate is Latin for Hamburg (La Hammonia) because the government in the 1880’s invite young farmers to the country to cultivate coffee in the area. The estate is currently run by descendants of these German immigrant farmers! The coffee is grown in a biodiverse shaded coffee forest from their highest elevation field around 4,000 feet. History is not the only thing this coffee has of interest. This estate generates its own electricity, heat and reuses every thing possible to create their own organic compost as well as many other items needed to run their plantation. They have won awards for sustainability
Lighter roasts will be brighter with citrus notes while darker roasts will be creamy and malty with a sweeter note.
